London Fashion, Shopping and Style

Every city has its own style scene, and London is no different. There are some looks and some clothing items that I've seen in London that really give the city its own distinct look.
I've also visited some of the shopping areas here, and I can tell you where to go to shop for London fashion!
Street Style
Walking around in London this spring, I noticed a lot of denim jackets. Waist length denim jackets were everywhere in spring, so I expect this will be a hot trend in fall fashion this year as well.
On warmer days, there are a lot of bare midriffs. Crop tops are very hot in London right now, so make sure you're doing your crunches if you're going to join in with this trend.
Pink is in, which you know I love. I always notice pink when I see it and I saw it a lot in London in early spring, so join me and wear pink, because this color is always trending for me.
Brighter colors in general are all over the streets of London, so think bright red, light orange, soft yellow and light green. Electric blue is always good, too.
London Shopping
Everywhere I go in the world, I'm always going to go shopping.
London has some good shopping areas, but the most famous is Oxford Street. This is the epicenter of London's fashion district, where you will find famous and historic department stores like Selfridge’s. You will see boutiques and shops offering everything you could ever want to wear, plus all the accessories to go with it.
Oxford Street is extremely crowded and you could spend days shopping here and still not see all of it, but the prices do reflect the stylish location. If you want fashion that's more affordable, head north away from the crowds to Camden Lock Market.
This is where you will see another side of London style. It's where you'll find the more underground looks and outside-the-box style. Don't be surprised if you see people with spiky Mohawks and fluorescent hairstyles, leather clothes with metal studs, bold looks and interesting fashion everywhere you look.
You'll also find all the shops and stalls you need to experiment with your own bold fashion looks. Prices here are more reasonable and the atmosphere is incredibly lively.
But London fashion isn't contained in a couple of neighborhoods or one famous street. You will find places to shop all over the city. When you're a visitor here and you find yourself in need of some new item to make your trip complete, look for Mark and Spencer's.
This is a department store chain you can find in multiple places all over London and they've got everything, from socks to outerwear. I know, because I got both those things when I shopped at Mark and Spencer's.
It's a department store, so the prices are pricing here. However, you can always find sales racks to get some better deals. I embraced London fashion here by getting myself a pink denim jacket and even though denim is not my thing, I love the jacket and even took it with me on my trip to Texas.
My London Style
As a visitor to London, I had to be careful about what I packed for my trip. I needed a bunch of different looks and, of course, I needed to be prepared for the London weather, which can change on a dime.
I took three pairs of shoes with me to London: hiking boots, tennis shoes, what they call trainers in London, and a pair of dresser walking loafers for going to museums and the palaces.
I suggest closed toe shoes in London. It's a nicer look if you're visiting palaces and it's a lot safer for your feet when you're walking around the city.
I brought a lightweight pink jacket and picked up an extra jacket, the pink denim, and I was a little cold on some days because on some days, even in spring, London can be very chilly.
For your London trip, I suggest good walking shoes, either an umbrella or a rain poncho and plenty of socks. I had to buy extra socks in London, so always pack a few extra pairs.
Whatever you wear, take clothes that make you feel good. You'll never go wrong when you wear things that make you feel confident and happy.
